Why is my honey crystalizing?
Because of our honey is completely raw and natural, crystalization can and does occur. Don’t panic! Your honey is still good and tasty. Raw honey naturally crystallizes over time, forming a thicker, grainy texture. This process happens because honey is rich in natural sugars—mainly glucose and fructose. When glucose begins to separate and form tiny crystals, the honey thickens. Cooler temperatures can speed up this process.
Crystallization is actually a sign of pure, high-quality honey. It means your honey hasn’t been heated, filtered, or processed, and still contains all the beneficial enzymes, pollen, and nutrients nature intended.
If you prefer your honey smooth and liquid again, simply give it a gentle warm bath. Place the sealed jar in a bowl of warm water and let it sit, stirring occasionally, until the crystals dissolve. Avoid boiling or microwaving, as high heat can damage the honey’s natural properties.
Crystallization is completely normal—just another way honey shows its authenticity.
How long does raw honey last?
One of the most fascinating things about real, pure honey is that it never spoils. Honey’s natural makeup—low moisture, high acidity, and powerful enzymes from the bees—creates an environment where bacteria and microorganisms can’t grow. This is why archaeologists have found jars of honey in ancient tombs that were still perfectly good thousands of years later.
As long as honey is pure and stored properly with the lid tightly sealed, it will stay safe and delicious indefinitely. Over time it may darken or crystallize, but these natural changes don’t affect its quality. A warm water bath will return crystallized honey to its smooth, golden state.
Pure, nourishing, and filled with purpose—this is honey with heart.
